Endometrial biopsy is a medical procedure during which a small tissue sample is taken from the inner surface of the uterus (endometrium) for subsequent microscopic examination. This procedure helps diagnose various conditions, such as endometriosis, hyperplasia, polyps, and endometrial cancer.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia or general intravenous anesthesia. The procedure takes up to 5 minutes. After the procedure, mild lower abdominal pain and slight bloody discharge may occur for several days.
Hysteroscopic endometrial biopsy is a reliable and effective method that allows for an accurate diagnosis and simultaneously addresses issues with the endometrium. Remember that timely consultation with a specialist can prevent many problems in the future.
I advise against agreeing to cheaper alternative methods, such as uterine curettage, as it is an outdated method performed solely by feel and depends on the subjective perception of the doctor.
We will discuss all questions regarding the surgery and the postoperative period during our meeting at the clinic.
